Raspberry leaf tea is a herbal remedy, not to be confused with raspberry fruit tea. Raspberry leaf tea is thought to tone the muscles of your uterus (womb), to help it to work better during labor. The idea is not so much to speed up your labor, but to help it to progress at a nice, steady pace.
How it tastes: Traditional medicine's star for pregnancy, raspberry leaves shine in this delicious infusion.
Benefits: It strengthens the uterus and pelvic muscles which some midwives say leads to shorter and easier labors. The tannins in raspberry leaf give it astringent properties which make it soothing both internally and externally. A strong raspberry leaf tea or tincture will sooth sunburn, eczema, and rashes when used externally.
How to use: Percolate just like your would coffee. Add 1 tbsp per 2 cups of water to filter. Run machine. Or, try adding 1 tsp of tea into an infuser and immerse into boiling water until desired strength of tea is obtained. Sweeten as desired with eSutras sugars, stevia, jaggery or agave.
For steeping or brewing in a tea pot: Tea to Water Ratio: 1 tablespoon per 8 ounces. Steep Time: 5 minutes. We encourage you to experiment with the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find your desired brew strength.
